Carissimi Soci SGI,
Carissimi Soci Società Associate,
Su indicazione del Prof. Fabio Bonali (Università Milano-Bicocca), vi segnaliamo la Call for Abstracts relativa alla sessione "Studying active faults from the near-surface to seismogenic depth: an open challenge in seismotectonics" organizzata nell'ambito dell'EGU General Assembly 2024 (Austria & Online | 14–19 Aprile 2024).
Cordiali saluti,
La Segreteria
Dear colleagues,
We are delighted to submit to your attention the session T3.3 "Studying active faults from the near-surface to seismogenic depth: an open challenge in seismotectonics" (Conveners: F. Ferrarini, F. Bonali, V. Kastelich, R. de Nardis, V. Alania) programmed at the EGU General Assembly 2024 in Vienna - Austria (April 14 to 19, https://www.egu24.eu/).
The session aims to spark discussion on how to advance our understanding of active faulting and improve the coherence to robust seismotectonic models by exploring and exploiting approaches as innovative as traditional, by investigating at local and regional scales, linking geological and geophysical perspectives and emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches aimed to reconstruct faults' geometry, kinematics, deformation style and rates (please, find more details at https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU24/session/48674).
With this in mind, you may consider submitting an abstract by January 10, 2024, 13:00 CET (https://www.egu24.eu/programme/how_to_submit.html).
We strongly encourage PhD students and early career scientists (ECS) to consider this session a fitting opportunity to present their research results, establishing across-generation scientific debate on the proposed topics.
ECS may want to explore the eligibility rules to apply for travel support grants (ECSTS) by December 1, 2023, 13:00 CET (https://www.egu24.eu/guidelines/supports_and_waivers.html).
We look forward to seeing you all in Vienna.
Best Regards,
Federica, Fabio, Vanja, Rita and Victor
