Dear colleagues,
We hope you are doing well. We are organizing a Special Issue that may be of interest to you. As the *Guest Editor*, we cordially invite you to contribute research articles, review articles, short communications, technical notes or perspectives for consideration and possible publication in a Special Issue on Evolution of Modern and Ancient Orogenic Belts* to be published in /Geosciences/ (http://www.mdpi.com/journal/geosciences), an open access journal on geoscience, future earth and planetary science, published monthly online by MDPI, indexed by *Scopus* (citescore 2.10) and *ESCI* (Web of Science).
The deadline for manuscript submission is *31 December 2021* (but an extension can be granted, if necessary). You may send your manuscript now or up until the deadline. Submitted papers should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. This Special Issue aims to integrate data and models from different disciplines. such as structural geology, numerical and physical modeling, isotope geochemistry, geophysics, tectonics, geochronology, petrology, and basin analysis, to better understand the processes and mechanisms governing the tectonic evolution of orogenic belts. Works that integrate different methods are particularly welcome.
/Geosciences/ is fully open access. Open access (unlimited and free access by readers) increases publicity and promotes more frequent citations, as indicated by several studies. Open access is supported by the authors and their institutes. The article processing charges (APC) for accepted papers are 1500 CHF. You may be entitled to a discount if you have previously received a discount code or if your institute is participating in the MDPI Institutional Open Access Program (IOAP), for more information see: http://www.mdpi.com/about/ioap.
For further details on the submission process, please see the instructions for authors on the journal website (http://www.mdpi.com/journal/geosciences/instructions).
We look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Prof. Dr. Rodolfo Carosi, Prof. Dr. Mario da Costa Campos Neto, Prof. Dr. Haakon Fossen, Prof. Dr. Chiara Montomoli and Dr. Matteo Simonetti
