Dear Goldschmidt Supporter,
Abstract deadline reminder: March 30th (23:59 EST)
Accommodation
Boston has a wide range of available accommodation at various price points. To help delegates secure the best rates the conference has put arrangements in place with local hotels and Boston University.
Hotels - Special rates are available for delegates booking through the links on the conference website. The prices are available up until the booking deadline for each hotel or until the rooms are all booked. Please do not leave it until the last minute to book. Once the deadline has passed the rates are likely to increase significantly and the cheaper hotels are likely to book up very quickly.
Boston University - The conference has secured the use of a number of private bedrooms (with shared bathrooms) in the accommodation blocks of Boston University. Priced at $85 per person per night these rooms represent fantastic value and could be used for self-catering. Again, availability is limited so please book early to avoid missing out. The accommodation is a few easy stops from the congress centre on public transport. BU will take your booking directly and manage all payments relating to their accommodation.
Workshops
We are pleased to announce the workshop program listing for the conference. Most of the workshops will be held in the teaching classrooms at Boston University on the weekend before the conference (11-12 August). The conference is the ideal opportunity to get together a group from the community likely to benefit from teaching or discussion on a specific topic. PIs, please remind your students to review the list. Students, please take the chance to improve your skills at the same time as networking in your field. Many of the workshops are now already open for booking and others will be opening as the organisers confirm prices.
Grants
As part of the commitment of the GS and EAG to encourage and support attendance at their conference across the whole community we invite those working in low economy countries as early career (student or recent graduate) researchers to apply for funding to help cover the costs of their participation at the conference. To apply you will first need to prepare and submit an abstract to the conference. Full details of eligibility and how to apply can be found here.
We look forward to welcoming many of you to Goldschmidt in wonderful Boston.
Sincerely,
Steve Parman and Shuhei Ono
