TITLE: Modeling of the Pressure-temperature evolution of magmatic heat sources in the Roman Magmatic Province
RESEARCH TOPIC: The Roman Magmatic Province is a chain of active and quiescent caldera systems extending from north of Latium Region to the Neapolitan area. It is one of the largest geothermal provinces on Earth still completely unexploited, despite its potential to greatly contribute to the Energy Transition. The research will quantify the geothermal potential associated with the main active and quiescent caldera systems, specifically exploring the geometry and history of the magmatic heat source and its impact on the geotermal potential of the region, utilizing geo-petrologic approaches to unravel the pressure and temperature of the magmatic heat source and numerical modeling of the transient evolution of the associated heat flux.
