Carissimi Soci SGI,
Carissimi Soci Società Associate,
su indicazione del Prof. Federico Casetta (University of Vienna), vi segnaliamo la call for abstract per la sessione "Fluids and Volatiles from source to surface: Analyses, experiments and models" organizzata nell'ambito del Goldschmidt 2023 (Lion 9-14 July).
Cordiali saluti,
La Segreteria
Dear Colleagues,
The abstract submission deadline for Goldschmidt 2023 is fast approaching so we would like to bring your attention to Session 05e 'Fluids and Volatiles from source to surface: Analyses, experiments and models'.
With this broad title, our aim is to bring together field geologists, geochemists, experimentalists and modelers to discuss the fate of magmatic volatiles and their respective isotopes and the information they may carry about magmatic processes in different environments.
We particularly invite discussion on (i) petrological records of volatiles and fluids (e.g. in melt/fluid inclusions, and minerals such as apatite), (ii) volcanic gas emissions and their link to volatiles originated from depths, (iii) volatile behaviour in multicomponent mineral-fluid-melt systems and their influence on trace element and metal partitioning, and (iv) the establishment and applications of novel analytical techniques, computational models, and interdisciplinary approaches to study these enigmatic phases.
Zoltan Zajacz from Geneva University will be our keynote speaker.
Goldschmidt will be held in Lyon, France from July 9th to 14th (Bastille day, so expect fireworks). The deadline for abstract submission is March 1st (23:59 CET).
Best,
The conveners, Weiran Li, Marion Louvel, Madison Meyers and Federico Casetta
