EGU 2022 - call for abstracts session NH8.4 Potentially hazardous fibrous geomaterials: from risk knowledge to solutions for reducing their social impact

Dear colleagues, the EGU General Assembly 2022 will return as an in-person and virtual event to Vienna, Austria, from 3–8 April 2022.
 
We cordially invite you to contribute to our session NH8.4  Potentially hazardous fibrous geomaterials: from risk knowledge to solutions for reducing their social impact

The session focuses on the state of the art knowledge of geomaterials that can be potentially hazardous to human health, aiming to find solutions for regenerating the available natural resources. Particular attention will be paid on those processes that involve natural occurrences of asbestos and asbestiform minerals as a source of possible environmental risk. We also welcome contributions presenting innovative approaches for recycling and reusing potentially hazardous secondary raw materials, in order to give them new life from neglected waste to new regenerated resources. Also, awareness of social impact derived from the use of potentially hazardous geomaterials fibrous materials will be an important issue to consider in our contributions.
 
Please note that the deadline for the submission of abstracts is the 12th January 2022, with the deadline for support applications being the 1st December 2021. 
We are also preparing a Special Issue entitled  Special Issue "Geomaterials: Hazardous, Risk and Solutions"to be published on Applied Sciences magazine MDPI (IF 2.679, ISSN 2076-3417).
