Advances in Continental Scienti c Drilling and Pathways for Participation Uli Harms - Head of Operational Support Group, International Continental Scienti c Drilling Program
Introductory presentation by Fabio Florindo (INGV)
Ulrich Harms is leading the Operational Support Group of the International Continental Scienti c Drilling Program, ICDP, at the GFZ in Potsdam, Germany.
Uli holds a MSc degree in Mineralogy from Kiel University and a PhD in Geochemistry/Geochronology from the Technical University of Berlin. He is working group leader in the section Geomechanics and Scienti c Drilling of theGFZ, leads the German Scienti c Earth Probing Consortium GESEP, and is co-founder and editor of the journal Scienti c Drilling. He is expert in
scienti c drilling and is involved in instrument development with a focus on downhole tools.
His talk will focus on recent operations and key achievements of the International Continental Scienti c Drilling Program, ICDP and highlight upcoming ICDP projects in Italy. In addition, the presentation will provide insight in how to partake in the program and create ICDP-funded projects.
