vi inoltriamo, da parte di Domenico Cosentino, un call per un dottorato di ricerca in Paleoclimatologia presso l'Università di San Paolo, Brasile (Prof. Luigi Jovane).
We are seeking an outstanding student interested in obtaining a PhD in Geological Oceanography specializing in Paleoclimatology. The student will be studying stratigraphic sections throughout the Indian Ocean, Atlantic Ocean and Tethys Realm using paleomagnetism, clay mineralogy, sedimentology and inorganic geochemistry in order to produce paleoclimatic models (ocean-atmosphere) for the major climatic events of the Cenozoic.
The background needed is Physical Oceanography, Geology or Geophysics with skills in stratigraphy and mathematics. The student will use the FAPESP grant of Doutorado Direto (DD) enrolled at Oceanographic Institute of University of Sao Paulo (IO-USP) and will participate to BEPE program joining Prof. Christopher Poulsen (University of Michigan) as co-tutor for 1 year.
